For Truckee resident Stephanie Tittle, creating art is the ultimate achievement. ‘There is nothing better, and I mean nothing, than to create something, even an inch-square area on a canvas, and revel in it,’ Tittle wrote in an email. ‘Painting [and] drawing are both the most catastrophic and blissful activities ever.’

Tittle currently has eight new pieces of art on display at Uncorked in the Village at Squaw Valley. Her work, which is all water-based oil paint on canvas, will be up through early March.

Tittle said that she recently changed her style of art, turning away from personal narratives to works with more texture and color. Her seascapes started off as a test, but ended up opening a new door.

‘I love my new work,’ Tittle wrote. ‘And have been getting some great feedback on it.’

Tittle, who has been creating art since high school, has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in drawing, painting, and sculptural installation from the Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, Wash. She has taught art at the both the junior and high school levels, and is often commissioned to work, as well. A Truckee and Olympic Valley resident since 1999, Tittle’s work has been on display at the Squaw Valley Art Festival, Riverside Studios, and the Pacific Crest Grill, among other local restaurants and venues.
