California native Caitlin Hess feels lucky to have been a part-time Kings Beach resident for her entire life. She pursues photography as a hobby, and her favorite subjects are landscapes, architecture, mechanical objects, cars, and boats. She believes that there is beauty to be found everywhere, and she loves taking the time to capture images of objects that may be passed by unnoticed, or written off as ordinary. Currently, Hess is a junior biology major and volleyball student-athlete at Rider University in New Jersey. From a summer bike ride with her brother around Donner Lake to her family’s 16-foot 1959 Century Resorter, Hess looks at the world around her with a unique perspective and takes photos to capture all the details and angles she appreciates.
