Washoe County is warning citizens about a scam involving an individual claiming they represent Washoe County. Citizens report that they are receiving messages via mail and phone claiming a lien has been placed on the citizen’s property and that a payment must be made to settle the debt.
The Treasurer’s Office accepts no payments over the phone. Citizens can always check their property tax status online here or call the Treasurer’s Office at (775) 328-2510.
