The Literacy Program at the Truckee Library is always on the lookout for volunteers to help their ESL and native English speaking adults interested in improving their literacy skills. On Tuesday, October 27 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., those interested in becoming a ESL/literacy tutor are invited to attend a ESL/literacy tutor training class.
This training is for members of the Truckee community who wish to become Volunteer ESL/literacy tutors wanting to help students in the Truckee Library Adult Literacy Program entitled: READ UP! Those interested in taking the training class must be 18 years of age or older and have the ability to read and write English at a 12th grade level. Volunteers must be able to communicate well, enjoy being creative, flexible, and have a sense of humor. For an application, more information on the class and details about a tutor’s commitment should contact Rolann Aronson, Literacy Specialist at the Truckee Library, 530-575-7030.
English speaking as well as bilingual individuals are encouraged to apply.
