After another massive storm, Northstar California reported 11 inches of new snow to the resort on Feb. 23, 2017. On Feb. 24, a man snowboarding died inbounds at the resort.
In an official statement from Northstar they reported after a ‘serious incident on the mountain’ a 43-year old man died. The man was a resident of New Canaan, Conn. The Northstar ski patrol responded to the event which took place on advanced terrain. Northstar Fire Department provided further emergency care and pronounced the man deceased.
“Northstar, Northstar Ski Patrol, and the entire Vail Resorts family extend our deepest sympathy and support to our guest’s family and friends,” said Nadia Guerriero, vice president and general manager of Northstar California.
The name of the deceased has not yet been released to the public.
