New Homes Coming to Nevada’s Shoreline

The Tahoe Beach Club — which has been in development for more than 15 years — will add nearly 150 luxury condominiums to a 20-acre area just north of the casino district. According to developers and planning agency staff, these would be the first new full-ownership lakefront homes on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe in about 30 years, although there have been time-share projects during that time. The development will replace a mobile home park and comes at an estimated cost of $300 million. According to an article in the Reno Gazette Journal, new drainage infrastructure at the Tahoe Beach Club will capture as much as 11,000 pounds of sediment annually that would otherwise run into the lake. The condos will range in size from about 1,200 to 4,500 square feet, and the first are expected to be completed in fall 2017. Info: thetahoebeachclub.com

TGM Architect Todd Mather Relocates to North Shore

Award-winning architect Todd Mather has moved to a new office location in the Bechdolt building, suite 7, in Tahoe City. Renovated from top to bottom by Mather and several local subcontractors, the new larger space accommodates the growing business, offering a useful meeting space for clients and strengthening the partnership with Grey Blue Realty, which is located next door. “I’m excited to move into this new space as the business grows,” Mather said in a press release. “Our new office benefits what we offer to clients, on a number of levels.” An open house in the Bechdolt building is planned for Thursday, October 6, from 5 to 7 p.m. Info: tgmarchitect.com
Expansion Coming for FiftyFifty Brewery

FiftyFifty Brewing Co. has found a new Truckee location that will allow them to produce at 30 times their current capacity. The new production-only facility occupies the old maritime museum at 10434 River Park Place, behind W&T Graphix. The 12,000 square foot building is slated to be up and running in the first quarter of 2017, with its primary goals to serve the company’s “backyard market” with draught beer, expand barrel-aged bottles, and start canning beers. The current brewery will remain unchanged. The brewery had plans to expand in 2015, but they retracted their application due to time constraints. Nevertheless, they are excited to ramp up production. “We want to be Truckee’s brewery, and to be that, we need to be able to provide beer for all of Truckee,” said Alicia Barr, co-owner of FiftyFifty, along with husband Andy Barr.
