Sugar Bowl Puts Last Home Sites at Summit Crossing on the Market

Sugar Bowl Resort released the final 17 home sites of Summit Crossing in late July. Summit Crossing is a trailside neighborhood with a European style that cannot be found anywhere else in the United States, as it is snowbound in the winter. The “streets” of the village offer direct access to the slopes as well as the extensive trails of Royal Gorge, America’s largest cross-country trail system. Squaw Valley Nonprofit Formed to Support Local Environmental and Community-Based Initiatives

Squaw Valley Ski Holdings, LLC announced in early August that they will establish the Squaw Valley Foundation, a nonprofit organization that will be responsible for the management and distribution of millions of dollars generated from the project transfer fee if The Village at Squaw Valley Specific Plan is approved. As part of the plan, Squaw Valley Ski Holdings has committed to a 1.5 percent transfer fee. If approved, the fee will generate $7.5 million in developer sales. More than $1 million annually will be available for the Squaw Valley Foundation to support local environmental and other community initiatives. Info: squawtomorrow.com
Tahoe Area Luxury Home Sales Double in First Half of 2016 from 2015

Luxury home sales in the North Lake Tahoe and Truckee areas were very strong in the first half of 2016, according to a report by Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage. The figures were derived from Multiple Listing Service data of all single-family homes and condo-townhomes sold in the region with a sales price of more than $1 million during the first half of 2016. A total of 131 single-family homes and condo-townhomes sold in the January-through-June 2016 period, up from 65 properties during the first six months of 2015. Single-family home sales had the biggest jump, soaring to 117 units this year, up 109 percent from the same period last year. Condo-townhome sales climbed 56 percent in the first half of 2016 with 14 transactions, compared to nine a year ago.

REAL Trends, in partnership with Zillow and Trulia, has ranked Truckee-based Alison Elder of Elder Group Tahoe Real Estate, affiliated with Chase International, as one of America’s Best Real Estate Agents for the second year in a row. Elder is listed as 18th among California Realtors in the “individual by sides” category. “Sides” is a real estate term referring to either buyer or seller transaction sides. Elder closed 116 transactions in 2015. She also ranked in the 151st spot of all California Realtors in the “individuals by volume” category, as she closed over $57 million in volume sales last year. Old Gas Station in Escrow… Finally

The property next to US Bank on Donner Pass Road, formerly Pat and Ollie’s Gas Station, has been listed since February 2012 and is now in escrow. The State Water Board has been overseeing the cleanup of the property — which had a leaking underground fuel storage tank — and reported that all that remains to be done is to remove the monitoring wells and any remediation equipment at the site. Once the State Water Board signs off on the changes, the sale will proceed.
