BEAR IN FREEZER, October 3, 1:03 a.m., Snowpeak Way, Truckee: Report of a bear inside an occupied residence eating out of the freezer.

DON’T LEAVE YOUR SHORTS IN THE PARK, October 4, 10:28 a.m., Brockway Road, Truckee: Reporting party contacted the police department regarding missing items, said he left his cargo shorts with his cell phone and car keys in the park.

HIT & RUN, October 7, 1:15 p.m., Moraine Road, Truckee: Report of a two-vehicle, non-injury, hit-and-run collision.

GOOD DOG, October 10, 9:12 p.m., Truckee: Police canine, Trax, detected odor of contraband coming from vehicle pulled over for a traffic violation. Bulk U.S. currency suspected of being involved in illegal drug trafficking was seized. (Read our story about Trax here.)

BEAR TRAPPED IN CAR, October 13, 11:11 p.m., Stuart Staithe, Truckee: Bear was trapped in a vehicle and the owners could not be located, leaving the officers no choice but to breach the car window.

STRAIGHT-ABOUT, November 1, 1:35 a.m., Truckee: While on patrol, officers discovered a car sitting in the middle of a round-about. Driver was found to be intoxicated.

TAXI DRIVER SECRETS, November 2, 1:13 a.m., Truckee: Taxi was pulled over for vehicle code violations. Police discovered that the driver had alcohol in his system, violating his probation for a previous DUI.

TRAX DOES IT AGAIN, November 6, 7:37 p.m., Truckee: Trax the canine cop detected contraband in a car including narcotics, U.S. currency, and a loaded handgun.

STOLEN CAR, November 8, 4:52 p.m., Donner Trail Road, Truckee: Report of a stolen vehicle from a parking lot.

STEAK THEFT, November 9, 12:31 p.m., Beacon Road, Truckee: A bear stole two steaks out of a freezer and damaged the garage door in the process.

TARGET PRACTICE, September 16, 10:30 a.m., Fox Street, Kings Beach: Female arrested for domestic violence after she threw a knife at her boyfriend.

GOTTA GO, September 17, 9 p.m., North Lake Boulevard, Kings Beach: Male was caught urinating in public and was found to be in possession of cocaine. A record check revealed he had two outstanding warrants.

DON’T GET INVOLVED, September 18, 4:15 p.m., North Lake Boulevard, Kings Beach: When victim tried to break up a fight between two males, one of the fighters pulled out a knife and gun. Suspect then proceeded to threaten his wife while aiming an assault rifle at her. Several felony charges are pending.

GOLF CART DUI, September 27, 8:30 a.m., Brockway Springs, Kings Beach: Two males were arrested for public intoxication after they were caught joyriding on a golf cart that did not belong to them.

TRAIN SPOTTING, October 3, 8:30 p.m., Emigrant Gap railroad tracks: Four subjects arrested for illegally occupying a rail car.

DECORATION ASSAULT, October 18, 12:15 a.m., North Lake Boulevard, Tahoe City: Male subject arrested for public intoxication after a deputy saw him “assaulting” a Halloween decoration.

NEGATIVE EXPOSURE, October 24, 6:20 a.m., North Lake Boulevard, Tahoe City: An unknown male exposed his genitals to a female while she was working.

ABC STING-CRIME 1, October 14, 12:25 p.m., 8600 block of North Lake Boulevard, Kings Beach: Female cited for selling alcohol to a minor during an ABC sting.

ABC STING-CRIME 2, October 14, 4 p.m., 3000 block of River Road, Olympic Valley: A minor decoy asked an adult male to purchase alcohol for him. Male cited and released for purchasing for a minor.

ABC STING-CRIME 3, October 14, 6:15 p.m., 3200 block of North Lake Boulevard, Tahoe City: A minor decoy asked an adult male to purchase alcohol for him. Male cited and released for purchasing for a minor.

MISSING HIKERS, October 27, 3 p.m., Shirley Canyon, Olympic Valley: Report taken for two lost hikers. Hikers were located by the Tahoe Nordic Search and Rescue Team and brought back safely.
