TAHOE CITY

Each chapter begins with an account from a period of his life, followed by signature recipes. Throughout the book’s 220 pages, stunning photography complements each of the nearly 70 recipes and provides a visual timeline of Dale’s years as a chef in Buffalo, N.Y. and Boston, Mass.; his studies in Japan; and his creation of the institution that is Wolfdale’s from the early days to its current location in Tahoe City. THREEdotSTUDIOS Featured on KNPB’s ARTEFFECTS

KINGS BEACH

Speckled Street in Kings Beach is home to THREEdotSTUDIOS, an artist collective comprised of Tyde Music and Roundwood Furniture. Reno’s PBS station KNPB caught wind of this unique collaboration — the two businesses share a workspace and materials — and selected it to be featured on its show ARTEFFECTS.

“After filming the first segment, the station realized they had enough material for two segments,” said Roundwood Furniture owner/operator Andy Cline. The first episode focused mainly on Tyde and aired Sept. 16. The release date for the second segment, focused on Roundwood, is yet to be scheduled, but Cline said a majority of the footage has already been recorded. Tyde Music, founded by Tyler Joersz and Devin Price after they apprenticed under Cline, focuses on using local reclaimed wood for building musical instruments, mainly ukuleles. Roundwood is a furniture design company on a mission to redefine home and commercial interiors as expressions of functional art. Read more about the collective on p. 52. Info: threedotstudios.com
