The following are the Nov. 4 election results from local contested races in Nevada, Placer, El Dorado, and Washoe counties. These results are preliminary as some races are very close. As of Nov. 7 there were still 36,651 ballots that needed to be counted in Placer County and approximately 14,000 in Nevada County. The California Secretary of State’s office requires that all election results must be certified by Dec. 2. Nevada County is expected to give an election update on Nov. 12. Since some elections were decided by multiple counties, we give the total number of votes each candidate received.
