“There’s no shortage of creative culinarians in Truckee, so hosting an al fresco brunch event to support wildfire relief seemed incredibly appropriate,” said JJ Morgan, owner of Moody’s Bistro Bar & Beats and Truckee Craw Thaw Music Festival co-presenter. “Our goal is to raise $10,000, with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the California Wildfire Relief Fund.”
The California Wildfire Relief Fund supports intermediate and long-term recovery efforts for major California Wildfires as well as preparedness efforts. Since 2003, the fund has granted more than $11 million to support relief and recovery efforts in the aftermath of the devastating California wildfires. Grants have supported those who were displaced or lost housing, belongings and/or employment and much more.
Following brunch, matinee programming for the final day of the Truckee Craw Thaw Music Festival is scheduled for Sunday afternoon, with doors at 12 p.m. and music beginning at 12:30 p.m. featuring “Brass Mafia,” followed by the vintage-inspired rock and roll of “John Courage” and the captivating country/Americana sounds of “Frankie Boots.”
Produced by Crux Events and Moody’s Bistro with the support of the Truckee Tourism Business Improvement District (TTBID), the Truckee Craw Thaw Music Festival (May 31-June 2, 2019) benefits the nonprofit Moody’s Jazz Camp and was designed to celebrate spring in the popular mountain town of Truckee, California. The event is free for guests of all ages, with food and beverages available for purchase. Access into the concert venue will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
