“Join UC Davis TERC for a special evening presentation on May 16: Beautiful Beer with Dr. Charlie Bamforth.
We wouldn’t be here today without beer. Our ancestors drank it and survived because converting water to beer killed pathogenic organisms. By creating a “”healthier”” beverage, beer allowed our ancestors to pass their beer-drinking genes on to us.
And beer tastes good as well as working wonders. Beer comes in so many styles and flavors, it can be difficult to know how to choose. Luckily, Dr. Charlie Bamforth, the Sultan of Suds and Distinguished Professor Emeritus at UC Davis, is here to guide us. Charlie has been brewing since 1978 and has since received many accolades, written many books, and spoken about beer across the globe. He is currently the Senior Quality Advisor for Sierra Nevada Brewing Company.
Admission is $25 in advance and $35 at the door. Event includes various specialty beers brewed by Alibi Ale Works along with food pairing refreshments. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. The presentation will begin at 6 p.m. at 291 Country Club Drive in Incline Village (between Tahoe Boulevard/SR 28 and Lakeshore Blvd.) on the campus of Sierra Nevada College.
