Are you still heartbroken over the Tour of California’s aborted attempt to cycle around Tahoe and through Truckee? Have you been watching the Tour de France religiously, wishing the race was a continent closer, allowing you to break out the cowbell and cheer on a mob of professional cyclists?

The Tour de Nez can solve these problems for you.

The region’s favorite cycling race/party comes to downtown Reno on July 31. You can catch all the action that was once spread over three days — the music, beer, lightning-fast pro criterium and handcyclists — in one day along the Truckee River at Wingfield Park.

As a bonus, the Tour de Nez is joining forces with Artown, combining art and music with fan-favorite events like the Clunker Classic and Tour de N’Alley Cat.

This year, the tour is back on USA Cycling’s National Race Calendar, meaning top professional teams like Kelly Benefits, Jelly Belly, United Health Care, and the Colombian national cycling team will all line up at the start and battle for points.

‘This year we are expecting to see the highest quality and caliber of athletes that we’ve ever had, and the highest number of athletes we’ve ever had,’ said Tour de Nez Founder and Race Director Tim Healion.
