Join the Boy and Girl Scouts’ Diversity Day Celebration at the DW Reynolds Community Center in honor of Martin Luther King Day. All children from the community are welcome to attend and enjoy the food, music, games, and clothing from other cultures. Hosted by the Parasol AmeriCorps team who also invite community members to speak about their heritage. Those attending who are not scouts can earn a ‘World Neighbors’ certificate, while the Scouts work toward earning the ‘World Neighbors Badge.’ AmeriCorps is a U.S. federal government program partnering volunteers with community service organizations. Professional local artists from the community, Arts For the Schools and Riverside Studios teach middle school students creative art techniques at KidZone Museum. Cathie St. Clair teaches cartooning on January 30. Beginning February 27 Alanna Hughes teaches pottery. Each Friday night event will have a different theme. Pizza provided.
