Soroptimist Offers Women Opportunity Award

Soroptimist International of Truckee-Donner is again offering its annual $1,700 Women’s Opportunity Award. Applicants must be a woman with primary financial responsibility for supporting their family, attend or have been accepted to a vocational/skills training program or an undergraduate degree program, have financial need and be motivated to achieve their goals. This award is to financially assist those seeking to improve their employment status by gaining additional education and skills, thereby improving the lives of their family. The winner will also then be eligible to compete for either the $3,000 or $5,000 Sierra Nevada Regional Award, with the $5,000 recipient then being considered for a $10,000 Federation Award.
