SFLT has New Leadership Group
Founded two years ago, Slow Food Lake Tahoe is currently in the process of reorganizing, bringing in new members of the community while keeping some of the existing board members. Susan Brumm brings her public relations background and passion for sustainable food to her position as chapter leader. Vice chair Candy Corbitt, a newcomer to the Lake Tahoe area, has an extensive marketing and advertising background. Secretary Kaili Sanchez, one of the original SLFT board members, is the Project MANA director of Truckee programs and part of the Truckee Tahoe Nutrition Coalition. Peggy Ricketts, an accountant and business system creator, is SFLT’s new treasurer. Dragonfly owner and chef Billy McCullough, another SFLT founding member, is the organization’s new membership chair. Melissa Siig, a writer for Moonshine Ink, is the new chair for the PR/communications committee, which is working on revitalizing the chapter website. The new board of SFLT invites you to learn more about the organization at one of its monthly orientations, held the second Wednesday of every month at Dragonfly at 4 p.m. starting Dec. 9. See’s Candies Holiday Store
See’s Candies has opened a holiday store at the North Tahoe Events Center. The store will be selling delectable holiday treats Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Funds from the store will go to Friends of the Park Playground Replacement Fund. River Ranch Lodge Plans New Year’s Eve Dinner
Chef Julia Walter has plans to set the mood for a year of excitement with her fresh New Year’s Eve dinner at the River Ranch Lodge. Choices range from Kobe beef tartar and oysters for starters, then scallops, lobster, lamb or venison for main courses. Delectable sounding desserts such as winter fruit coulis, blood orange and vanilla anglaise mini tarts, and chocolate truffles are set to round out the evening complete with a champagne toast. Christmas at Jake’s

Truckee River Winery Opens Tasting Room
After 20 years making wine and distributing it locally through restaurants and retail shops, Russ Jones, owner/winemaker of Truckee River Winery decided it was time to commit to a retail tasting room to showcase the wines he has been producing. Jones found a great location that provides room for tasting and making wine and has great exterior space for additional fun with bocce courts and picnic areas.
