Truckee Chef to Feed North Face Product Testers
Billy McCullough, owner and chef of Dragonfly Restaurant and Sushi Bar in Truckee, will be preparing meals for another North Face skiing and snowboard expedition in the Sierra backcountry March 19 to 23. The expedition pairs North Face product developers with their sponsored world-class athletes to test newly designed gear in the field. Truckee local Jim Zellers, who is one of the sponsored athletes on the extreme team and runs the program, has been bringing McCullough along as camp cook for the last seven North Face outings. ‘It was great to come back to Billy’s cooking,’ notes Ana Traska, product developer for North Face. ‘My version of camping food was never remotely like this. We dined on incredibly delicious sushi and sweet and sour eggplant appetizers, salads with watercress and smoked trout, and entrees of Kobe beef and banana curry.’
