Papoose Preschool Receives Grant
Dana Mudd and Mike Kahlich, owners of Papoose Preschool & Infant Care, were recently awarded a First Five grant for $2,000 from Nevada County. Their project, ‘Home Grown Ingredients,’ will guide children through the process of planting, tending, harvesting and using their produce, and will fund three field trips to Mountain Bounty Farm in Nevada City. ‘In our technologically-focused culture, children and their families need to be reconnected to the place their food comes from: the earth and the labor-intensive work of growing, harvesting and preparing food,’ Mudd said. Easter Festivities at the Resort at Squaw Creek
The popular Easter Brunch returns to the Resort at Squaw Creek on Sunday, April 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with a champagne bar, cold buffet, cooked-to-order omelet station, carving station with ham and prime rib, and hot buffet station, as well as a special children’s buffet. Easter Sunday Brunch on the River
The River Ranch will be offering a special Easter brunch menu ranging from $11.95 to $14.95 between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on April 12. Chef Julia Walter has created a menu that includes classics with a personal spin. The bar will be mixing up Blood Mary’s, Champagne Mimosas, and traditional Ramos Fizz. Rocks Not Eggs
The Rock will be putting a spin on tradition with a Great Easter Rock Hunt, immediately following the Truckee Donner Recreation and Parks District Easter Egg Hunt, on Saturday, April 11. Prizes will include cash and gift certificates from Drunken Monkey, FiftyFifty Brewing Co., Peluso’s Apizza, and Thai Delicacy. Tahoe Forest Church will have several large bounce houses for kids.
