Carmel Gallery Expands
Elizabeth and Olof Carmel recently expanded their downtown Truckee gallery to 2,600 square feet. Shakespeare Festival Welcomes New Management
The Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival has added more than 30 years of combined theatre management experience in the form of executive producer Henry Woronicz and production manager John Grüber. Woronicz’s theatre experience and long-range strategic planning helped establish the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland as a leading production company. Grüber, who recently stage managed Cirque du Soleil’s ‘Zumanity’ at the New York, New York Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, brings additional experience from his work at the Illinois Shakespeare Festival and Utah Shakespearean Festival. ‘The experience and expertise that Henry and John bring to the Festival will help elevate the quality and diversity of our productions at Sand Harbor, and help us become a first-rate self-producing theatre company,’ said Catherine Atack, executive director of the Festival. Colombe Tresan at Dragonfly
Dragonfly Restaurant in downtown Truckee is featuring the striking silk designs of Colombe Tresan this winter and spring. ‘I am thrilled to be showing my work at the Dragonfly,’ said Tresan. ‘It’s one of my favorite restaurants, and I really appreciate Billy McCullough’s support of local artists and of the community in general.’ Tresan paints a wide variety of subjects, including the natural landscape and pet portraits. Painting with dyes on silk ‘creates a lot of surprises and poses challenges to solve,’ explains the artist. The pieces gracing the restaurant’s walls are available for purchase.
