What better way to spend a crisp fall Saturday than to listen to the crackle of a whole pig on the spit while sipping on a glass of wine and supporting a terrific local nonprofit. Clear your calendar Sept. 25 for Roast on the Range. Starting at 2 p.m., Moody’s Bistro Executive Chef Mark Estee and Chef de Cuisine Guy Frenette roast a Berkshire hog raised in pasture at the small, sustainable Shaw Family Farms in Truckee.

Proceeds from this event will benefit Girls on the Run – Sierras, a life-changing, non-profit prevention program for girls in the 3rd through 8th grade. Their mission is to educate and prepare girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living. Tickets are $100/person, and include a mouthwatering dinner prepared by Chefs Estee & Frenette, wine, live music, and tours of the farm.
