Dec. 13, at Moody’s Bistro & Lounge

In 1970, award-winning author Georgeanne Brennan and her family set out to live a ‘simple life.’ They landed in Provence, France and bought a small farmhouse with a little land, and a few goats and pigs and so began a life-affirming journey. Fully immersed, the family became accustomed to the wholesome daily rhythms of life and to the region’s deep ties to food.

Georgeanne, who grew up in Southern California, developed into a renowned food writer and cooking teacher. Her fun, captivating style filled critically acclaimed cookbooks, food columns, and musings on the simple human need to play with food. In 2007, she returned to the trip that started all of this, and published ‘A Pig in Provence: Good Food and Simple Pleasures in the South of France.’ Filled with delicious recipes and local color, this evocative and passionate memoir describes the joys of cooking and living in the Provençal tradition.
