Northwoods Pool was host to dozens of soggy dogs on Doggy Dip Day, a benefit for the Truckee Tahoe Humane Society (HSTT). The snow flurries on the afternoon of October 4 didn’t stop them from chasing Frisbees, Kongs and each other into the water, and sometimes it was hard to tell who was more wet, the dogs or their owners. The Red Cross, Mickey’s Pet Grooming, Black Gold dog food and Donner Truckee Veterinary Hospital had tables full of goodies and useful information. Dog owners enjoyed themselves almost as much as the dogs, and hope to have this kind of event more often. Raffle prizes were generously provided by Tahoe Donner Downhill Ski Area, Trout Creek Recreation Center, the Beach Club Marina, The Lodge, the Equestrian Center, Pizza On The Hill, Dog Gone It Pet Care and more. hstt.org, 530-587-5948.
