Many readers likely have ridden or walked Jackass Ridge, along Highway 89, at some point and realize what a beautiful place it is. You might also realize that some people are less cognizant of the beauty and dump trash there – mattresses, refrigerators, lawn mowers – some people just disrespect the land. The owner of the adjacent land, Stefanie Olivieri, cleans it up with her son on a regular basis. Several years ago, Ms. Olivieri donated half of her land at Jackass Ridge to the Truckee Donner Land Trust and will donate the rest upon her death, forming an 80-acre park that will be right in the middle of Truckee.
Respect the Land. Don’t Dump Trash. Don’t Let Friends Dump Trash.
