TDPUD New ‘Cool’ Program Saves Bucks for Local Businesses
Local businesses can stretch their dollar further with Truckee Donner Public Utility District’s new ‘Keep Your Cool’ program, the latest money-saving opportunity available through the TDPUD’s Business Green Partner program. Keep Your Cool is designed to help TDPUD business customers with refrigeration units cut costs and save energy by keeping cool air efficiently contained in their refrigerators. TDPUD has partnered with commercial refrigeration expert Humitech on this energy-saving effort. A representative from Humitech will visit any local business that wants to participate in this free service and evaluate the business’ current refrigeration equipment. The Humitech expert will then replace, free of charge, any leaking gaskets and install automatic door closers to help make the refrigeration unit function more efficiently. These energy savings can add up to hundreds of dollars each month on business utility bills.
Keep Your Cool is just one of many energy saving strategies in the TDPUD Business Green Partner program, which was launched last year to help local businesses save energy and money on their electric and water bills. Green Partner businesses are given a complimentary energy evaluation and free energy-efficient compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs), new technology ultra efficient Light Emitting Diode (LED) light bulbs, low-flow water sprayers and pre-rinse spray valves. In an effort to simplify, Gaiel Holbrook has replanted Blooms and Zooms in a new workshop location. She will still do account work, special events and special orders. Longs Bought by CVS
National retailer CVS Drug Stores recently purchased the Longs Drug Store next to Save Mart in Truckee. James Macdonell, of Main Street Commercial Real Estate, who represents the leasing of the Truckee Crossroads shopping center, noted that the official name change and store remodel will occur in August.
Quality Automotive
Local Auto repair shop, Quality Automotive, was recently purchased by Truckee resident Bill Greeno who worked with James Macdonell, of Main Street Commercial Real Estate, to extend the shop’s lease in the Save Mart and Longs shopping center on Hwy 89 at Deerfield Road in Truckee. 530-587-1933.
Caltrans Contracting Opportunities for Small Businesses
