I want to thank the publisher, Mayumi Elegado, for having the huevos to let me present a political view that may differ from hers. Too few people are open to embracing the true tenets of free speech, where diverse ideas are broadcast so that all might enter in the debate on the validity of those ideas, and that the best might win over the hearts of man and prevail as public policy.

Everybody knows that the impending 2008 election is the most important in our lives. America’s very sovereignty hangs in the balance. There is no doubt we need a change, but it will not be wrought by changing the puppet in the White House. Instead we need the clean house and clear out the corruption and greed that dominate the halls of power throughout government. That doesn’t mean that honest men and women intent on serving ‘We the People’ don’t exist. They do, but they become rare the closer you get to Pennsylvania Avenue. Besides, good intentions are not sufficient. As recent events prove, the fruit of policies determined long ago, not just in the past eight years, is now rancid.

The root of the problem is that we have a caustic mix of corporate greed and socialist doctrine, which have sacrificed our liberty. I’ll be clear in my bias that Democrats led the charge on that, but the Republicans are more to be damned for colluding with the enemy and abandoning the principles conservatives trusted them to uphold. In addition We the People abandoned our responsibility to hold our public officials accountable to us and to the Constitution that they have sworn to defend and uphold.

Unfortunately they have been perverting and dismantling it for years while we have become progressively more ignorant of its principles. Our hard won liberties paved the way to prosperity that allowed indulgence in frivolity rendering us stupid and lazy with regard to what it takes to secure our inalienable rights. For most of us it was not a conscious move. In fact, I’ll go so far as to say we’ve been lied to for most of our lives, especially if we rely on the fourth estate to tell us the truth.

I’ve been involved in radio, a smattering of TV, and spent the last 20 years as a publisher. You may disagree with my beliefs and my politics but I urge you to trust me on this one thing. There isn’t a single objective reporter in the world. Any writer or reporter who doesn’t reveal his or her biases and claims to be objective is flat out lying. Only by admitting them can they allow you to properly filter the information they provide. If they don’t admit their partiality, their words are woven with deceit.

In order to take back America we need to arm ourselves with the truth. That means getting off our butts and exercising those cranial muscles. Step one is turn off the stupevision. Step two is to start asking questions and demanding answers. The easiest place to find them is online although you’ll need your wits about you to discern truth here as well. Download and read the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. You may be surprised to find it says we not only have a right, but a duty to overthrow tyranny (history proves socialism always leads to tyranny). Seek out the political commentaries from the side you agree with and the side you don’t. Discuss these issues with your friends, especially religion and politics. Then it’s time to make your vote count. And now I’m going to twist your sense of that, because I don’t believe voting for the lesser of two evils is how you make your vote count. In fact, once you concede that your only choice is Democrat or Republican you’ve given up the opportunity to create real change. The Demicans and Republicrats have run the good ship USA aground. If our salvage efforts are to succeed, we need a new crew that knows how to navigate stormy waters.

It doesn’t necessarily take a majority to affect change. All it takes is an inspired minority. The American Revolution started with only 2 percent of the population willing to fight for freedom and there is evidence, if you look beyond FAUX news or the Communist News Network, that a solid majority of us are not happy with the mainstream choices offered and know that change without a plan is like a plan to fail.

There are other candidates and other political parties who actually believe in the validity and sufficiency of the U.S. Constitution. In that spirit, I recommend Ron Paul, Bob Barr, or Chuck Baldwin. And remember it isn’t just about the office of the president. Together we can make a difference, but we need the collective courage to vote our conscience, not a concession.
