Set up camp at Shinneyboo Creek along the South Fork of the Yuba River for a weekend of music and off-roading in a stunning forest setting. In its second year, Mountain Vibe Music Gathering is a small independent music festival that celebrates the outdoors, four-wheel drive, and good tunes — and tickets are only 40 bucks at the door, including camping. Headlining this year’s festival is Forrest Day, Swoon, Lavish Green, Full on Flyhead, Burnt, and more. Natalie Puljiz, marketing director for Mountain Vibe Music Gathering, told us a bit more about this independent festival in the woods.
Moonshine Ink: What’s the scene at Mountain Vibe Music Gathering?
Natalie Puljiz: We want people to come together and enjoy the outdoors, camping, and live music.Hosted at Shinneyboo Creek Resort in Soda Springs, we have 22 live bands playing over two days with the lush Tahoe National Forest serving as their stage and backdrop. This event encourages four-wheeling and there will be a 4×4 rock crawling demo during our event.
MI: Who should go?
NP: This event is for anyone and everyone. If you love camping and music this is just the festival for you. This is our second annual music gathering, so if you came last year, this year will really blow your mind.
MI: What vital items should attendees bring with them?
NP: Bring all essential camping necessities.
MI: Highlight for this year’s festival?
NP: Last year’s event was on the other side of the Yuba River down a 4-mile, 4×4 trail. Needless to say, it was difficult to get to. This year, we are blessed to have partnered with the generous people at Shinneyboo Creek Resort. The festival grounds will be on 160 acres of private property in a lush forest with greenery thriving around every bend, towering pines shading the trails, and paths that lead you to the South Fork of the Yuba River, which is rushing over awesome rock formations into gushing waterfalls and tide pools.The property alone sets this event apart from others.
