I am taking the time to comment on your most recent article by David Bunker, New Revelations. My family has been full-time residents, and I have worked in the local medical community, for 30 years. I support freedom of speech and also informing the community of issues that are beneficial to have awareness of, and information on. I do not support tabloid reporting, which is what came across in Mr. Bunker’s article.
I can only assume appropriate research was done on the issue brought to light in the article. Exposing an individual’s struggles or what jewelry or clothing they choose to wear has nothing to do with anything regarding a Tahoe Forest Hospital issue. Most tabloid reporting is inappropriate, hurtful, causes harm, and absolutely no benefit comes from it.
Our local hospital is an outstanding medical facility and, like all institutions, it has its issues and is not perfect. What this article brought to the community’s attention, I am confident, will be addressed professionally and appropriately. I personally am grateful for Tahoe Forest Hospital and those physicians and healthcare providers who care for our local community members and those passing through. All individuals living in the Truckee/Tahoe area might take a minute to think before reacting to such tabloid reporting.
I now have tossed Moonshine Ink in the tabloid category. Maybe that is exactly what this so-called newspaper is trying to achieve.
