While we all hope to find our heart’s desire under the tree on Christmas morning, this time of year is also a chance to think of others’ needs and how we could help. In that spirit, Moonshine Ink asked students at Kings Beach, Glenshire and Truckee Elementary schools to share the holiday gift they would most want for their town.
Swimming pools and skating rinks were high in demand, as were peace, love, and happy families for all. Others tapped into the sheer joy of being a kid in winter – Zarek Livak, age 9, from Glenshire, wants ‘a reaaaally reaaally really really really really big sled hill!’
All wishes have been published as they were written, in English or Spanish, spelling ‘axedants’and all. We hope you enjoy reading these as much as we did. Thank you to all who shared their wishes with us; we wish we had room for them all.

I would like to give the town bouncy balls.

A new Humane Society. The one we have is cramped with many animals and it isn’t safe for puppies or kittens. If we had a bigger one we could expand options of animals and maybe even get some reptiles. As you know us Truckee citazens love our animals.
