With unprecedented gusto, Alpine Meadows and Homewood longtime season pass holders have persuaded the mountains to extend the early-price deadline. Originally set for September 1, the early rate is now available until Tuesday, September 30. The deadline extension offers a savings of more than $200. Purchase an Alpine Meadows full or mid-week adult season pass online and save an additional $25. Adult full passes to Alpine Meadows are also valid at Homewood Mountain Resort.
‘Regardless of whether the stories of why people missed the first deadline of September 1 are true or not, they sure are creative – and abundant,’ said a Homewood / Alpine Meadows official. ‘Hands-down, my favorite tale was from a season pass purchaser who explained she missed the deadline because she lost her Economic Stimulus tax check, which she hid from herself to save for buying her pass.’ In hopes of maintaining a little machismo, the official has chosen to remain anonymous.
Deadline-missing reasons worthy of honorable mention include:
1. I was stuck in construction traffic on 89. –From many customers; not original but prolific to the point of mention.
2. I was looking at a last year’s calendar. I thought I had five more days. –Guy looking at a 2007 calendar.

4. Hey, can you not schedule your pass deadline during Burning Man? –Dusty desert guy.
