With more than five years of touring the west coast under their belts, Blue Turtle Seduction’s eclectic blend of bluegrass, funk, and rock is really heating up. The South Lake Tahoe locals are building a steady fan-base from town to town, selling out venues up and down the coast. ‘Deep Sea Rodeo,’ the band’s long-awaited second studio release, shows a musical maturity uncommonly coupled with the youthful energy so apparent in their music. They are blended seamlessly with the underlying funk and bluegrass grooves. The result is Rock ‘n’ Roll, in the truest sense.
The pioneers of rock combined influences from all genres, jazz to blues to classical, and made that music their own. With Deep Sea Rodeo, Blue Turtle Seduction has made an inspiring album, rich with the musical heritage of rock itself. Traveling from town to town in a tour bus run on vegetable oil, seven musicians living together, they are living the life that has made rock what it is today.
