Andrea Carabetta started watercoloring just 6 years ago; she has been blessed to find many outstanding and famous teachers. She also has traveled to seek other instructors. Andrea paints as often as possible considering her full life! She tries to surround herself with books, videos and nature. She feels more alive; a sense of worth by capturing scenes in nature delving into the meanings of the calm and poignant scenes in life. She can look into the sky or through the trees and water; see the wonder of the birds and colors that she used to take for granted. Life is the available wilderness and the canvas open to all of us. Boats are a big draw for her; she loves their shape; they hold grace, danger and mystery for the artist. Andrea once helped build a sailing vessel and watched it come alive in the rain and fog of the boat world.
Andrea shows her work through North Tahoe Arts’ Art In Public Places program, in local businesses and locations such as The Cottonwood Restaurant, Tahoe City Library, Bank of America in Tahoe City, U.S. Bank in Truckee, and Nik and Willie’s. Her projects include more reflections and painting from photos she took when in Paris and Rome.
