Bears in Art; Bears in Life
A two-part exhibit next month blends fine art with natural history to showcase connections among imagination, science, and reality. ‘Bears in Art; Bears in Life,’ produced by North Tahoe Arts in collaboration with the BEAR League is on exhibit at the North Tahoe Art Center from March 2-April 4. Life On Thin Ice
On March 24, at Sawtooth Ridge Café from 7 to 9 p.m., acclaimed wildlife photographer Jenny E. Ross will present a slide show and lecture about polar bear biology, behavior and conservation. Truckee artist Carole Sesko is exhibiting a new collection of original mixed media artworks at Dragonfly Cuisine. Whatever your mode of summoning your muse, Moonshine Ink wants to feature your creative spark. In May, we are expanding our Creative Brew section by publishing an entire Creative Brew edition to show off the artistic juices of our community. Earth Day Bumper Sticker Design Competition

Art, Wine and Music Festival Call for Exhibitors
The 6th Annual Art, Wine and Music Festival comes to Squaw Valley July 21-22, 2007. The two-day celebration showcases the work of 65-80 juried fine artists, a benefit wine tasting each afternoon, and live musical performances on outdoor summer stages. Squaw Valley USA is currently accepting applications for artist and winery exhibitors. The early application rate deadline is April 15; all artist applications must be submitted by May 15 and the deadline for winery applications is June 1, 2007.
