Anne Bartram, 10, fell in love with snowboarding after moving to Antioch, California in 2006. She spent the first eight years of her life living near the beach in Galveston, Texas, so trading the surf for the snow was a big change. Anne dreams of competing in the Olympics and X-Games and this summer she will attend High Cascade Snowboard Camp on Mount Hood, July 17 to 25. Members of the U.S. Snowboard Team and other Olympic hopefuls will be at the camp during Anne’s session.
She was the only female snowboarder to participate in the Lil’ Air Festival at Alpine Meadows on April 18; she also competed in a slopestyle contest at Bear Valley in February. Anne has taught several of her friends to snowboard and enjoys a day on the mountain with her friends. Anne just finished the fifth grade and is looking forward to attending middle school this fall. This summer, she will be attending a Jr. Lifeguard Camp and working with a tumbling and trampoline coach to stay in shape for snowboarding.
