Essentially, she mused, we sleepwalk through our lives most of the time until something startles us out of our somnabulant state: running into an acquaintance in a place where we expected to see no one familiar; or turning the <br />corner and coming upon a house made almost entirely of glass, nestled in the snowy pines.
~ Even after 25 years in Truckee, Pam McAdoo sometimes misses the farmland outside New York City where she was raised. She supplements her art-teaching gig at Sierra College with occasional work at the Villager Nursery, Bookshelf stores, and the Truckee Library. The arts — from drawing, painting, printmaking, and bookarts, to music, dance, and architecture — are her passion. With In the Moment, she pays homage to Paul Madonna, whose artful synthesis of text and reportage illustration has inspired her to add words to her visual records of North Tahoe and Truckee — conversations overheard or thoughts that arise in the moment when she’s drawing.
