Passion is defined as a strong and barely controllable emotion, a feeling that, when immersed in it, causes us to often lose track of time and space. In most cases passion isn’t motivated by fame or finance — it is the feeling itself that provides the reward. At a time of year when people re-evaluate what’s most important to them, Moonshine Ink wants to know what you’re the most passionate about and why?

Linnea Whitney, Truckee Farm shop manager I have a passion for making things, which can be anything that makes people happy. That includes really healthy food, and showing somebody it can taste as good as it is for them, or I like to reuse materials and make crafts to use as gifts.

Jeff Hekemian, Squaw Valley Ski builder Skiing. I build skis for a living, and it’s my total love addiction. I have to be around it all the time.

Kirsten Soi, Truckee Sales/marketing manager, Hole in One Ranch Grass-fed beef, and local sustainable farms that are family-run and can work with great organizations to bring it to mountain people. I grew up in Truckee and know what it’s like to not have access to fresh meat.

Pat Saylor, Truckee House cleaning I’m really into the Old West, historically, and the presence we have right here in town. I enjoy dressing up and doing some play acting. Living out here, we have the whole Gold Rush area, we have wild horses, all of the vast lands, not to mention all of the old towns like Virginia City out in Nevada.

Naomi Berendsen, Truckee Fireplace sales I am passionate about words. The basis of it, of course, is communication, but I also took Latin for four years to better learn the English language. I find it all very important.
