There is such an interesting and beautiful diversity of animals in the waters, air, and grounds in and around Truckee and Lake Tahoe. From tiny to huge, these animals are enjoyed by both locals and visitors alike. ~ TC
The #DoTell question of July is: What is a memorable experience of yours, encountering or observing local wildlife?
An adorable baby bear got into the trash and was sitting among the trash. It was a learning/teaching/reminding moment to always lock up trash well.
While kayaking the American River, we saw a family of ducks swimming right by us on the river, and lots of Canada geese were near us, too.
Shooing away mama and papa bears and cubs from a store dumpster who were looking for food. I wanted to help feed them, but can’t.
All in one day, west of Donner Summit, we caught a catfish and saw a bear and a hawk. Then, when our cats got out of the RV, we saw blue jays attacking the cats.
Playing golf with others, we were about to tee off, when we noticed coyotes watching our group, so we decided to skip that hole and to walk away from the coyotes. Once we were walking away, four or five pups came out of the bushes and started playing. Also, our pet dog used to go off on long walks and come back later with a new coyote friend.
