While our region is not without its share of live music, art, and dance, it can be hard to get a culture fix in Tahoe/Truckee, which does not have the plentitude of museums and performing arts groups that big cities offer. But culture can also refer to the lifestyle of a place.
So, this month’s Do Tell question is: Where do you go to get your culture fix?

My culture comes from the skate park. A lot of people in Truckee don’t know, but the skate culture around here is bigger than they think. And we’re really trying to push to build a new skate park.

I attend the Truckee Art Walk on the first Saturday of every month. This is a combination of local businesses paired with a local artist from 4 to 7 p.m. The artist is [there] creating and it’s a great way to highlight local creativity and local businesses at the same time.
