It has been another busy month at the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe, currently on track to adopt out more than 600 pets in 2016. With a well-organized Giving Tuesday campaign, HSTT was able to raise over $120,000 in one day. You would think these guys would be ready for a cat nap after all that work — instead it’s time for the 2017 Humane Society Calendar.

The calendar featuring pets that were adopted from HSTT is a great stocking stuffer, and with all proceeds supporting homeless pets it’s a great gift for any pet lover. I got a chance to sit down with calendar model and Mr. November, Wrigley. The only calendar model still seeking a permanent home, Wrigley lives with a foster family. The Chicago Cubs had to wait 108 years to win a World Series. We are hoping Wrigley doesn’t have to wait 108 years to find his home. Here is the transcript of our exclusive interview:

As I was prepping for our interview I read that you prefer not to live with other cats? What’s up with that?

You do your research. Cats can be so … catty. They gossip. They keep odd hours, running around the house all night. It makes me a little crazy. Dogs are so much more … predictable.

I live with a cat. I hear you. I’m trying to sleep at night and Delroy is doing CrossFit all over the house. I’m not sure; it might be Jazzercise, maybe Zumba. He swats at me sometimes too, for no reason.

I would never do that.

You seem like a fine gentleman. What are you looking for in a home?

I’m looking for someplace cozy. I like kids and discerning dogs.

Could you wrap it in a bow for us?

Stop by the shelter and adopt an awesome cat (me). Pick up some HSTT calendars for the people you care about. Have the best holiday season of your life.

Great advice. I think cats have been in the calendar before, but I believe you are the first to get your own month.

I’m breaking the glass ceiling for cats modeling in calendars. It’s not about me. It’s about the cats that will follow in my footsteps.

You’re a trailblazer. Thanks, Wrigley.
