During the month of September, the sale of single-family homes within the Tahoe Sierra MLS region increased 1% from August and 27% year over year. While September typically signifies the slow-down of real estate season, this year we are seeing an exceptionally active fall. This is likely attributed to the late start of summer after the historic winter we weathered. Two lakefront sales — between Incline Village and Rubicon Bay — signify an uptick in interest, bringing the year-to-date lakefront-home-sale total to eight. This is still well below the 2016 to 2021 average of 22 single-family lakefront home sales for the same January through September period. We anticipate this fall momentum will bring a strong finish to the season, balancing out the delayed start.
