Single-family home sales in all micro-regions decreased from August to September. With the exception of Incline Village and Crystal Bay, the number of active listings in all micro-regions increased throughout the same period. Median prices continued to rise, with the exception of Truckee, where the median price dipped 4%. Given the season change and the impact that the Caldor Fire had on August and September sales activity, it would seem logical to expect a slowdown in the real estate market this past month. However, the Tahoe Sierra MLS single-family home available inventory is still 25% less than it was in September 2020 and the median price is 30% higher than last year, which indicates that significant demand still exists.
