During the month of May, the number of single-family homes for sale within the Tahoe Sierra MLS region jumped 54% from the previous month of April and grew 37% year over year. Inventory is currently within 8% of the supply we saw in 2020, meaning that the number of active listings is reverting back to pre-Covid-19 pandemic norms. While median price climbed 21% from April, and was up 8% compared to the same period last year, sales have been flat (43 homes sold) year over year from 2023 to 2024. However, a surge of supply is expected to boost sales activity this summer and all signs are pointing to a busy real estate season ahead.
