Crystal Bay Casino is ready to keep you movin’ and groovin’ through the end of the year, with some of North Tahoe’s favorite live bands.

Kick off Thanksgiving weekend with Elephant Revival and special guest Joe Purdy Nov. 24 when their West Coast tour stops at the CBC. Tickets are $40 plus fees. Elephant Revival is billed as a unique collection of multi-instrumentalists blending elements of Celtic, Americana, folk, and indie rock. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the shows start at 8 p.m.

The following night, Nov. 25, catch Jelly Bread for their 15th anniversary celebration, along with special guest The Last Waltz. Per the CBC, “Jelly Bread has risen from Reno/Lake Tahoe area favorites into a nationally touring powerhouse quintet that delivers a high-energy chameleonic playlist all over the United States.” The Last Waltz will hit the stage at 9 p.m. followed by Jelly Bread at 10:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 day of the show. Music starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $18 in advance, $23 on the day of the show.


Perennial Truckee/North Tahoe favorite Dead Winter Carpenters, joined by special guests A.J. Lee and Blue Summit, will headline the CBC on Dec. 9 with their Road to WinterWonderGrass show. Dead Winter Carpenters are rooted in North Lake Tahoe and over the past decade have cultivated an impressive following that expands beyond their homebase. The band’s latest release was the five-song EP Sinners ‘n’ Freaks, their fifth studio album, which debuted to coincide with their 10-year anniversary in 2020.

The Brothers Comatose, accom-panied by Madeline Hawthorne, hit the stage on Dec. 29. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the show. This five-piece string band puts a West-Coast twist on pieces from country and bluegrass to rock and roll.

Closing out 2023 is BoomBox, with their Dangerous Waters tour. Brothers Zion Rock Godchaux and Kinsman MacKay make up BoomBox, an electronic sensation whose musical sound is described as “a little bit of house, blues, funk, rock, and a whole lot of soul.” With shows on Dec. 30 and 31, BoomBox will have you ending the year on your feet. On Saturday night, BoomBox is joined by special guest Flamingosis. Tickets are $35. The festivities continue on New Year’s Eve, when N2N appears with BoomBox. Tickets are $50. Showtime both nights 9 p.m. Doors open at 8 p.m.

    Juliana Demarest is a Jersey girl with ink in her blood. She fell in love with print journalism at a young age in the '80s when her Uncle Tony would take her to "work" at his weekly paper. In 1997, she co-founded a weekly newspaper in North Jersey. One day, she went to photograph a local farmer for a news story. She ended up marrying him and leaving journalism to become a farmer's wife. In 2010, they packed up their two children and headed to Truckee in pursuit of the outdoor life.
