What’s New at Palisades Tahoe for the 2026/2027 Winter Season
NEW FOR 2026/27: Palisades Tahoe is investing $3.2 million in remote avalanche control systems. The project includes six new Gazex (pictured here) and Gazflex exploders at Palisades, five Wyssen avalanche towers at Alpine, and a new CATEX cable system in The Funnel at Palisades. Together, these systems give the resort’s avalanche mitigation teams more tools to address unstable snow from a remote location, including during periods of heavy snowfall, limited visibility, and strong winds. OLYMPIC VALLEY

Palisades Tahoe is rolling into the 2026/27 winter season with exciting upgrades on and off the mountain, including an investment in avalanche mitigation technology, snowmaking enhancements, redesigned beginner programs, and a packed calendar of world-class events. The season is set to begin on Wednesday, Nov. 25, weather and conditions permitting.

    Avalanche Mitigation Technology

The resort is investing $3.2 million in remote avalanche control systems designed to help conduct avalanche mitigation more efficiently and reduce the amount of time employees spend in avalanche terrain.

“This is a major investment in both our employee safety and the guest experience,” said Amy Ohran, president and COO of Palisades Tahoe. “Storm mornings require an incredible amount of work before the mountain can open. These systems will allow our teams to conduct important avalanche mitigation work more efficiently while reducing the amount of time employees need to spend traveling through avalanche terrain.”

    Enhanced Snowmaking in Key Areas

Palisades Mountain Run is one of the main arteries that gets skiers and riders to the base area and allows top-to-bottom access throughout the season. Snowmaking capabilities have been increased along this route to enhance the early season experience with a greater guarantee of top-to-bottom skiing and will create a more resilient snowpack in this area, which ensures a longer late spring top-to-bottom ski experience.

Apex Club Returns for an Elevated Second Season

Following a successful inaugural season, Apex Club returns for 2026/27 with an even more refined premium mountain experience. Building on feedback from its founding members, year two will focus on elevating the elements members valued most, including personalized hospitality, premium mountain access, the private Apex Lounge, food and beverage, and exclusive member experiences throughout the season. Apex Club was created as a new way to experience Palisades Tahoe, pairing more seamless days on the mountain with a deeper sense of community.
