Thirty-two-year-old Amazon software engineer Yadessa Emiru Aga passed away this past week after drowning. Emiru Aga was returning from a church conference and spending time with friends in Lake Tahoe.

A GoFundMe has been created to cover a portion of the costs of bringing him home and making funeral arrangements in both the United States and Ethiopia. The organizer of the GoFundMe described Emiru Aga, saying, “To know Yadessa was to know genuine kindness, warmth, and joy.”
