Tahoe City Downtown Association invites residents and visitors to celebrate Independence Day with four days of family-friendly events, live music, shopping, dining, outdoor recreation from July 2 to 5, and the 78th Tahoe City Fireworks Show on July 4. 

The 78th Tahoe City Fireworks Show will light up the skies over Lake Tahoe at 9:30 p.m. on July 4, launching from a barge off Commons Beach. Popular public viewing locations include Commons Beach, the Lakeside Trail, William B. Layton State Park, Tahoe State Recreation Area, and Lake Forest Beach. Filtered views are available from Kaspian Day Use Area (Hurricane Bay) on the West Shore, while hikers along the Tahoe Rim Trail above Tahoe City can enjoy panoramic views of the fireworks.

The weekend concludes on July 5 with the Red, White, & Tahoe Blue Cleanup from 8 to 11:30 a.m. at Commons Beach, followed by live music at Bridgetender Tavern & Grill, Sand Bar at Christy Hill, and Sierra Surf Club. A complete schedule of events is available at visittahoecity.org.
