TRUCKEE

The Friends of the Truckee Library announced a $2 million agency funding commitment from the Tahoe Truckee Airport District (TTAD) in support of the new Truckee Regional Library. The commitment is structured as a matching opportunity and will become available when Friends of the Truckee Library secures an additional $2 million in private philanthropic support by Dec. 31.

The commitment reflects TTAD’s determination that the new library advances important public purposes that benefit the broader Truckee/Tahoe region. In addition to serving as a center for lifelong learning, the new facility will provide space for STEM education and workforce development programming, quiet study and work areas for students and residents, and function as a community Emergency Resource Center during times of need.

The matching structure of TTAD’s commitment creates a significant opportunity to advance the LibraryUP campaign and complete the private fundraising needed to realize the project. The commitment arrives at a pivotal moment as philanthropic partners, foundations, businesses, and individual donors work together to secure the remaining funding necessary to bring the new library to fruition.
