NEVADA COUNTY

Registered voters will soon receive two voter information guides to help them prepare for the June 2 Statewide Direct Primary Election.

One is the state guide, which contains information about candidates for governor, lieutenant governor, and California secretary of state, treasurer, attorney general, insurance commissioner, Board of Equalization, and superintendent of public instruction.

The other is the Nevada County guide, which includes information about candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives, state Senate, state Assembly and county assessor, auditor-controller, board of supervisors (districts 3 and 4), clerk-recorder/registrar of voters, superintendent of schools, treasurer-tax collector, City of Nevada City Council, and Placer County superintendent of schools. It also includes information about three local ballot measures — Measures H (Nevada City School District bond), Measure J (Union Hill School District bond), and Measure K (Town of Truckee road tax renewal).

Ballots will be mailed May 4. Ballots can be returned as soon as they are received. Early voting is available at the elections office, 950 Maidu Ave., Nevada City beginning May 4 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays. All ballot drop boxes will be open by May 5.
