Lauren Bobowski-Salm, owner of Lala Jewelry who sells at various Tahoe City locations, suffered from an inner ear infection that spread to her brain. Bobowski-Salm is currently in the hospital after undergoing surgery as a result of the infection.

Bobowski-Salm’s husband, Ryan Salm, started a GoFundMe to help cover the costs of the treatment. In the GoFundMe, he wrote, “Like many creatives, she doesn’t have the financial safety net to absorb the burden of unexpected medical expenses easily. Between hospital bills, surgery costs, an emergency medivac (Care Flight) from Reno to Salt Lake City, and the time she will need to heal and recover, the financial strain is significant.”
