TAHOE CITY
The draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the proposed Granite View Condominiums project in Olympic Valley is available for public review now through April 20. The Placer County Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing April 9 at the Placer County Planning Commission (3091 County Center Dr., Auburn) and streamed virtually to receive comments on the draft EIR.
Placer County previously released a notice of preparation and initial study for the proposed project’s original design in April 2022, with a public scoping meeting in May 2022 to provide agencies and the public an opportunity to comment on the EIR for the original project.
The current project now proposes three groups of attached units, with gaps between each building, on-site parking, and associated nearby infrastructure improvements. The maximum building height has been reduced from 96 feet to 35 feet and each unit was reduced to three stories over a partially subsurface private garage, for a total of four stories. The project still includes the construction of a meditation hut on the parcel for the owner’s personal use only. The rooftop deck amenities were removed from the project.
The proposed project also includes a new off-site road through the Alterra Lot 16 parcel. Alterra Mountain Company has provided an access easement to the owner of the Granite View property for the proposed project.
The draft EIR is available for review at the Auburn Library, Rocklin Library, Roseville Library, Tahoe City Library, Truckee Library, and Placer County Development Resource Agency.
It is also available online at placer.ca.gov/documentcenter/view/103179.
