Placer launched a new Spanish-language Facebook group designed to share useful information about community resources, free or low-cost services and local activities for Spanish-speaking residents in Placer County.

211 Placer is a free, confidential, 24/7 service that connects residents to health and social services, including housing, food assistance, mental health support, transportation, and emergency information. Over the past year, 211 Placer received 24,421 calls and facilitated 58,032 resource connections for the community.

The new Facebook group will serve as a respectful and safe space, with clear rules that prohibit private business promotion, political content, or any other content outside the regional scope. Clear participation guidelines will help maintain a constructive environment centered on sharing helpful information.

To access resources or assistance, residents can call 2-1-1; text their zip code to 898211 or go online to 211placer.org

Launched in July 2020, 211 Placer responds to a long-standing need in the county for a centralized information system that makes it easier to access essential services.

The 211 program is operated by Connecting Point and serves as a one-stop shop for navigating social services and community support.
